Hab some of this, Leafs
Went to the Leafs season opener last night with Ali. The seats were sick--we were about 15 rows behind one of the goals. The atmosphere was electric, and it was easily the hottest ticket in town.
Unfortunately, the Leafs decided not to show up and were pasted by the Montreal Canadiens, 4-0. They were booed off the ice at the end of the second and third periods. It's performances like the one I saw tonight that make me frustrated with pro sports. The face value of our tickets was $195 each, and it's disgusting to pay those prices (for a sub-par product).
I don't think I could be a season ticket subscriber for a team that I did not think was fully committed to putting a top-notch product out there. I'm paying for a compelling product, and nothing's more compelling than winning.
