So I picked up my new car
on Saturday. It's a 5-speed, and aside from driving my cousin Randy's car around for a day when I was 17, I haven't ever driven standard.
So after I picked it up, I drove 200 miles to Stamford, CT. I was terrified on I-84 when traffic slowed to a crawl; stalling on the Interstate would not have been a good thing.
Slater taught me some key things on the ride back from Stamford to New Haven on Sunday.
Like:
Press the clutch when slowing down / stopping, or you'll stall
Believe it or not, that little nugget helped out a lot.
So I almost had my first stall-free ride today on the way home from watching MNF, but I got greedy. Stopped in a parking lot to practice, and stalled three times.
I just love being the jackass in the sports car who doesn't know how to drive.
