iWant One
It's official, Apple has officially released a Mini iPod.
Here are the details, courtesy of Gizmodo:
More details: it's called the iPod mini, and it'll use the same interface as the regular iPod, and have 4GB of storage, cost $249, be a half-inch thick and the size of a business card, weigh just 3.6 ounces, use USB 2.0 and FireWire, and will come in a variety of colors (gold, blue, pink, green, and silver). Comes out next month for both Mac and PC.
The buttons under the scroll wheel looks like a particularly brilliant design decision.
While I figured the earlier rumors of a $99 price tag was on the low side, the iPod Mini sells at a far more attractive price point than the $400 iPod. Size, capacity, price, and battery life all sound great. The only thing that would prevent me from buying one is poor skip protection. If I can't run with it, I'll be waiting a bit longer without an MP3 player.
Incidentally, I am halfway through a good article on Steve Jobs (Apple's founder) in this month's Fast Company.

too damn expensive... for $50 more you lose the color by quadruple your storage...
ahh, but for $50 less i get a smaller device that will hold all the songs i'll ever need :D
$249 is pricey though, I think the 'sweet spot' is a sub-$200 PP.
